Springs Ensemble Theatre depends on volunteers who help welcome audiences, support productions and keep the company running.
You do not need professional theatre experience to get involved. Some opportunities require specific skills, while others are a good way to learn, meet local artists and support live theatre in Colorado Springs.
Ways to Volunteer
Volunteer needs change throughout the season, but opportunities generally fall into the following areas.
Front of House
Help patrons feel welcome and make performances run smoothly.
- Checking in ticket holders
- Helping patrons find their seats
- Distributing programs
- Answering basic venue questions
- Assisting with audience surveys
Production Support
Work behind the scenes to help bring a production from rehearsal to performance.
- Scenic construction and painting
- Props and costume support
- Load-in and strike
- Run crew and backstage assistance
- Technical and stage management support
Marketing and Events
Help SET reach new audiences and document the work happening onstage.
- Photography and video
- Social media support
- Poster and postcard distribution

- Opening-night and donor events
Administrative Support
Assist with the organizational work that supports SET’s productions and long-term growth.
- Data entry and recordkeeping

Special Skills

What to Expect
Flexible Opportunities
Some volunteer roles require only one performance or event. Others involve several rehearsals, work calls or performances. We will explain the expected time commitment before you agree to participate.
Clear Communication
Volunteers should arrive on time, communicate scheduling changes promptly and ask questions whenever instructions are unclear.

SET expects volunteers, artists and staff to contribute to a welcoming environment built on respect, collaboration and care for one another.
